Welcome to Our New President

Karen WoodfordSanta Cruz County Unified School District would like to welcome our new president, Karen Woodford. Ms. Woodford says, "As a former educator, I believe in giving back to my local school district. Children are the greatest resource our country has, and we need to work together for their success. The Rio Rico Unified School District has been recognized nationally for their outstanding work, and it is a pleasure to invest time and energy to support the good work done right here in our community. Together with other board members, I will work toward building an effective organization through meaningful planning and appropriate board development. Hopefully, we will continue to expand opportunities to help our students, teachers, and administrators throughout district #35.”

Currently, Ms. Woodford is serving in the Santa Cruz County Council, First Things First, Tubac Center for the Arts, Home Tour Committee, Tubac Historical Society, and the Oral History Committee. Please join us in welcoming Karen to our family.
